What is a user friendly small business accounting software? Quiken ? quickbooks ?
I have been using Quicken and can never get it to balance. Is Quickbooks any better or easier? Any other suggestions?

- Use Quickbooks. Quicken is a waste of time and money. If you use quickbooks, though, it helps to have at least a minor understanding of basic accounting. That way, you won't get caught up in all of the "features" which are also a waste of time. We set our clients up to use only the basic features they need, otherwise, everything gets all confused again- entries being booked twice, etc. If you can just use the journal, registers for your credit cards and bank accounts, reconciliations, etc- the simple things- you won't have any trouble. Good luck! :0)
- I use QuickBooks a lot as an accountant however I find Microsoft Accounting much friendlier - I cannot control what my clients use, but I use Microsoft for my own.
- HAHAAHAHA on the Quicken and getting it to balance. I don't know why but that program don't work right. Quick Books Pro works better. There are many accounting programs though, one is Peachtree Complete Accounting, Dac-Easy, Acc-Pac. I have used many of them but the one I like best is Peachtree. It takes a little bit to set it up but once it is set up it works great.
- There are several packages for small businesses. Some good locations to compare the best packages include ProCompare (a web site that compares and aggregates reviews provided by the user community and allows you to search in a personalized manner) and accountingsoftware411.
