Basic Accounting Software

Can someone recommend an accounting software package for a small business?

I run 2 small businesses that are completely separate from each other. One is registered for VAT and the other is not. I'm looking for an accounting software package that will allow me to do the accounts for each business. If I have to download the same package twice, if its possible, then I can do that instead if doing the accounts for both businesses on the exact same system. I'm looking for an easy to use and cheap (even free) software package. I'm in Ireland. Thanks in advance to all replies.

1. Just use MS Excel its free and you should already have it installed.
