How can someone with an accounting degree go about getting an entry-level position in that field?
What steps do I take due to little hands on experience? How can i learn about the different softwares that are used in that field? Where can I look for entry-level jobs?

- The best way to start is monster.com Post your resume! Also, your college/university has a career center. Go and talk with them, they can be invaluable. http://www.monster.com
- Best way to start off in accounting is to work for a CPA firm. Try one of Big 4 firms, local or regional firms. If you cannot get into one of them, try getting into a financial services company as they are noted for hiring entry level staff because they don't pay very much. After you have about two years of experience, you'll have many more opportunities to pursue. I'd recommend taking and passing the CPA exam as well. Many employers today want either a CPA or a MBA or both. Either one makes you more marketable.
- Get deep into it right away by signing on with Accountemps or some such firm, a temporary employer. You will encounter a wide range of expeiences in different environments. Perhaps one of the temp jobs will convert to permanent. GOOD LUCK
