what software do banks use to do basic jobs? ?
I have started a software reserch project and i need to know what kind of software banks use. (small or large) any advice would be appricated. I was wondering do they have things like an all in one sort of software or do they use diffrent software for diffrent jobs the sort of area i am looking at is opening and clossing basic accounts. Like a said any comments would be much appriceated. Also any web links would be great! :)

- For banking related transactions, such as transferring funds between accounts, opening an account etc, most banks will use in-house built software. This provides them with the ultimate flexibility to change something, no concerns over licences, and also reduces the risk of fraud. As the software is built in-house, it is never available for purchase by anyone else, so there's no chance it could be hacked. In terms of software that is used for making a presentation or a spreadsheet, nothing more special than an off the shelf package such as Microsoft Office.
