Basic Accounting Software

what's the best accounting software for a home business?

Note: I may choose to incorporate and I hate accounting. I'm hoping this will be really easy like the tax software they have out there now. Thanks for any feedback- even if you can say what didn't work for you. oh- and I'm in CANADA. Thanks It's a consulting business- no inventory of goods, mainly writing off tax stuff and things like that

  1. I'd have to say Quickbooks. I use it at work and it's fairly easy. Ü
  2. Go to www.cnet.com or www.zdnet.com. Not only can you buy software and get downloads but you can get very useful reviews. Good luck!
  3. I used peachtree several years ago and found it very comprehensive for a very reasonable price. But it might be a bit more than you need for a home business.
  4. I use Less Accounting which is web-based and perfect for small businesses. It takes care of all of my invoicing and accounting as an s-corp contractor. I do quarterly tax returns with a local CPA and he loves how organized everything is when he gets it from me. Check it out: http://lessaccounting.com. It's free if you don't have multiple businesses, but even then it's only $20/month. Other big players are Peachtree and Quickbooks, but there's a bit of a learning curve. I'm on a Mac and I've run into a few problems with Quickbooks compatability, too. Good luck!
  5. There is none better than " Tally 9.0 ". There is also a legitimate software to make money online. Checkout : http://startearnnow.99k.org . Hope this helps.
