Basic Accounting Software

Quickbooks or Simply Accounting?

I am trying to choose accounting software for my very small business (it's an online store, but I also sell product out of my home and at shows). We have no employees, and are based in Canada. Which software would you choose? What are the pros and cons?Which is easiest to use? Thanks for your help! Are there any other accounting packages I should be considering? Do I need to hire an accountant?

  1. ~~I have used the two big ones Quickbooks and Peach Tree. Quickbooks is by far more advanced, yet so simple to use. The help program they have is awesome for setting up and any problems which may come up while using. Otherwise everything is as simple as running a checkbook. You can keep your stock entered, get software for bar scanning, has payroll options, and even can do your taxes if your business is not too involved. There are several different versions, currently we use Quickbooks Pro- Contractors Edition. It is awesome. Fills all our needs. Go to www.intuit.com and you can easily see how it works, as well as compare which bookkeeping software would fit your needs. Best of luck in your new endeavor!~~
