Why do we need Accountants when we have accounting softwares?

Wonder what makes accountants indispensable for business concerns despite there are so many softwares these days for preparing financial statements. Wonder what are their tasks besides preparing statements in: 1. Sole Proprietorship concerns 2. Partnership concerns 3. Joint Stock Companies Please answer in detail.

1. Accounting standards change every year and since you can't teach accounting software how to follow the standards, you need an accountant. Computers and software are only as smart as the people working them. I have seen some people get themselves in trouble with software as easy as Quickbooks because they don't understand the general concepts of accounting.
